A figure is not done when it looks right on your screen. It has to land in a journal at the right size, on a poster legible from across a hall, or on a slide that reads from the back of the room. Each medium has its own demands – panel dimensions, text size, file format – and the same plot needs a different finish for each.
This part covers getting a figure out the door. The manuscript chapter handles fixed-panel sizing and PDF export for submission, plus editable PowerPoint output when a figure needs to keep changing. The research-day chapter handles poster sizing, where the base text has to be large enough to read at a distance. The house themes do most of the work; these chapters show how to pair them with the right save settings so the figure arrives the way you drew it.
